The success of the France team against Austria was not obtained without cost this Monday. Kylian Mbappé notably had a broken nose.
France scored a short but important victory in its first match of Euro 2024. Opposed to Austria, they won 1-0 thanks to an own goal. A success which was costly, however, since several players suffered injuries at the final whistle.
Mbappé hit in the nose
Kylian Mbappé is among those who could not finish the match due to a physical problem. A few minutes from the end, the future Real Madrid player suffered a broken nose. In an aerial duel, he was hit by Kevin Danso’s shoulder.
The image of Mbappé bleeding profusely from his nose was spectacular. He was forced to leave the field for treatment. In the process, he wanted to come back too quickly and was warned by the referee. It was just before his replacement by Olivier Giroud.

When he left, the French captain went straight to the locker room. He will certainly do tests quickly to determine the severity of his injury. A concern also for Griezmann
Mbappé was not the only Frenchman to suffer the excessive aggressiveness of the Austrians. This was also the case for Antoine Griezmann. The Mâconnais was hit in the forehead after being thrown by an opponent, but he also suffered a knee problem. This injury seemed a little more serious.
