Last year, the Saint-Jean Fireworks attracted more than a thousand people to Jean-Moulin Park. Organized by the Polish Association of Dourges, with the support of the municipality, the 2024 edition promises a very festive evening while remaining in the sobótki tradition. “ When we started this event, we wanted to set up fires in the true Polish tradition, like in Lublin for example, recalls Edmond Oszczak, president of the Polish Association. The last edition is certainly the most successful, notably with the show put on by the Iskra association which was a great success. » Special feature this year: a delegation from Raszkow, a town in Poland twinned with Dourges, will be present.

The evening will begin with the presentation of diplomas to the students of the Polish courses. The La Boîte à Zic orchestra will continue with a host of lively music, before giving way to the Wisla ensemble for an introduction to folk dances and then to the Gorale kapela, specialist in the music and songs of the Carpathians. Finally, before the big farandole around the fire, the young people from Iskra will present their new show with a rather gypsy atmosphere.

Saturday June 22 at Jean-Moulin Park from 6 p.m. Info: 03 21 69 09 64.
