Cross-country skiing: Hanna Fine will discover the eD System Vltava Fund Team

After four years ago under the colors of Team Vercors Isère, Hanna Fine decided to give a new impetus to his young career. Indeed, the Iséroise recently joined the ranks of eD System Vltava Fund TeamCzech team playing on the Ski Classics, international circuit of long-distance cross-country skiing.

In the top 20 of the legendary BirkebeinerrennetChartrousaine wants to continue to discover long distances by evolving full-time on this circuit that she partly discovered last year. The twenty-four-year-old cross-country skier is at the microphone of Nordic Magazine.

  • Tell us how what happened when you arrived in your new training…

I applied to both teams at the end of the season and it was the Vltava Fund Ski Team that responded. I completed an interview and was subsequently admitted. So far, I’ve only done a few races on the Ski Classics and I really like this circuit. I want to see what it can be like to do a whole season on the circuit. With Team Vercors Isère, it was only targeted events.

  • What were your first reactions to the announcement of your recruitment into the eD System Vltava Fund Team?

I’m really happy to be part of this team. It’s a great experience which will bring me a lot and which will allow me to work on my English because I think I need it [Rires]. On the course in Tignes, there will be Fabian Stocek, who is in the same team as me and who will join Team Vercors Isère for four days. This will allow me to have a first contact so that’s cool!

  • Have you already established your winter schedule?

The plan is to race in almost all of the Ski Classics races. I probably wouldn’t go on the Jizerska 50 because I prefer to go on the Transju’ and I find that important. I might also do the Bessans Marathon and the Belles Combes depending on the calendar. There may also be some skate races at the end of the season.

  • How will your summer preparation go from now on?

It’s a team where there is no training camp or coach during the summer. So it’s Rémi Salacroup who continues to do my programming for me. I’m going to train all summer with the Vercors Isère Team and I’m going to join them in Tignes. There may also be an internship with them in July. In August, I would like to go to Norway and Sweden to participate in some races. I don’t know yet which ones I plan to align myself with.

In September I have a roller ski race with my team in the Czech Republic and I will see them for the first time. In October, I will do an internship in Mallorca with the whole team. And, in November, we will again be as a team on an internship in Davos. The season will start quite quickly behind.

  • Do you already have well-defined ambitions for winter?

As for ambitions, I don’t really know. I am still young and I would like to bring as many points as possible to my team in the general classification. Since I’m a foreigner, that might make some good points. I was super happy to do a top 20 on the Birkebeinerrennet so why not do better in certain races if I’m in good shape [Rires] !

In France, I want to do the best possible over long distances because it is important to me. There is a good level among the girls and it’s so cool! I want to go to the front as much as possible.
