A violent collision between a motorcycle and a recreational vehicle occurred around 2:20 p.m. on the borders of Clermont and Saint-Aimé-des-Lacs.
The motorcyclist died instantly. He was driving westbound. The other vehicle was entering Chemin du Friche at the time of the impact.
The victim is believed to be around sixty years old and does not live in our region.
Speed and dangerous maneuvers may have played a role. The investigation by the trained police officer at the accident scene will tell.
A witness to the accident said he saw the motorcycle arriving “on one wheel. The sound of the impact was like a loud gunshot. I set off running to get there. A man and a woman attempted resuscitation. I applied a tourniquet to one arm. There was nothing to do. Just hearing the noise, that said it all,” says the man who lives 100 meters from where the accident occurred.
He also mentioned that in the 7 years he has lived at this location, this is the first accident of such seriousness that he has seen at this intersection.
The occupants of the recreational vehicle were not injured. They suffered shock, but were not taken to hospital.
Traffic is alternating on this portion of Route 138.
