The flames only reached one part of the school. The damage is estimated at approximately $100,000, indicates the Longueuil Agglomeration Fire Safety Service (SSIAL).
The fire broke out around 6:15 p.m. Sunday. The 37 firefighters on site brought it under control in around thirty minutes.
“It was not a major fire,” confirms SSIAL firefighter Alain Lessard. We deployed more firefighters because the fire was inside the school, and we wanted to be sure to control it. »
No one was in the school when firefighters arrived, so the fire caused no injuries. The Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL) is conducting an investigation to determine whether the event is of a criminal nature.
