The iPad Pro M4 is the thinnest product ever created by Apple at 5.1 mm thick. And this is just the beginning, with the manufacturer also planning to reduce the thickness of other products, including the iPhone 17.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPad Pro M4 is “the beginning of a new class of Apple devices”. The objective for Apple is to offer “the thinnest and lightest products in their category”. Three categories are mentioned.

The first is none other than the phone and more precisely the iPhone 17. There have already been rumors mentioning an “iPhone 17 Slim”, namely a model thinner than the others with a 6.55 inch screen. It would in some way succeed the iPhone Plus since Apple would decide to discontinue this range, like the mini range.

The second category where Apple wants to offer thinner products concerns the laptop computer. The MacBook Pro became thicker and heavier in its last redesign in 2021. This corresponded with the MacBook Pro’s transition to Apple Silicon chips, as well as the return of ports such as MagSafe, HDMI and a slot for SD card.

Finally, the third category is the connected watch. Previous information from Gurman was the occasion to learn that an Apple Watch X was in preparation. But there are not many details about it, except that this model would offer a completely new design.

There is currently no precise information on the release dates of new thinner products from Apple, apart from the iPhone 17 which should logically arrive in September 2025.
