Poland – Netherlands, pre-match

First match in Group D this Sunday (3 p.m.), between Poland and the Netherlands. Two opponents that the Blues will face in the group stage of Euro 2024. On the one hand, the Poles qualified for the competition after going through the play-offs. On the other, the Dutch who appear to be one of the outsiders of the competition and who promise to be France’s biggest opponents in this group.

A major problem for Poland for this meeting, since Robert Lewandowski is absent after his biceps femoris injury last Monday, during the preparation match against Turkey (2-1). Obviously a huge handicap for the selection which had already had to deal with Milik’s withdrawal a few days earlier, again due to injury. On the Dutch side, there were also breakages and last minute withdrawals, such as that of Frenkie de Jong or that of Teun Koopmeiners. This match nonetheless remains an opportunity for France to see the masks fall and to see the real level of its two future opponents.

Poland – Netherlands, the probable line-ups

Poland : Szczesny – Bednarek, Salamon, Kiwior – Frankowski, Piotrowski, Slisz, Zalewski – Zielinski, Uranski – Swiderski

The Netherlands : Verbruggen – Dumfries, De Vrij, Van Dijk, Aké – Shouten, Reijnders, Veerman – Simons, Gakpo – Depay
