Nîmes Festival: Dua Lipa bewitched the arenas for her second evening in the heart of the ancient city

On the occasion of her last show in Nîmes, the British-Albanian artist offered a memorable show in an electric atmosphere.

The lights went out and all of Nîmes roared. On this Thursday, June 14, the least we can say is that the magic happened again… Dua Lipa, the international pop star, lit up the Roman amphitheater for the second time in a row on the occasion of his final concert in Nîmes and in France.

A memorable show

From the first notes, the atmosphere was electric. In the arenas, filled to capacity, the cries of thousands of spectators from all over France and abroad resonated. Starting with her new hit “Training Season” from her latest album “Radical Optimism” (2024), Dua Lipa offered her fans from the ancient city her greatest classics throughout the evening.

In the stands, everyone stood dancing and singing, until the 10,000 phones lit up during his new ballad “These Walls”. The decor and the giant screens left plenty of room for the artist’s boundless energy to tens of millions of listeners on streaming platforms. But one thing is certain: it’s even better in real life!

“I am very grateful”

On stage, Dua Lipa is also and above all meticulous choreography, lighting effects synchronized to perfection, all crowned with a lovely speech in the language of Molière. “Thank you very much, I’m very happy to be here this evening”she spoke in perfect French, visibly moved by the welcome offered to her. “Thank you for your support for my latest album. I am very grateful, thank you. This is a dream come true”she concluded to thunderous applause.

The acoustics of the arenas, often a challenge for artists, did not prevent the powerful voice of the British-Albanian singer from resonating in the ancient enclosure. Finally, after an hour and a half of an energetic and uninterrupted show, it was on “Houdini” and its catchy rhythm that Dua Lipa bowed out, leaving behind a won over audience and indelible memories.
