The City of Bolquère-Pyrénées 2000 likes to stick to sports news in its decorations. Already in 2021, a futuristic cyclist encouraged the passage of the Tour de France. A superb rugby ball augured good results for the French team for the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
Since Tuesday, June 25, a unique piece has stood up, the Olympic torch which comes to celebrate the opening of the Olympic Games in a few days. All these “in-house” achievements are thought out, designed, and produced by the same technical services team. Creativity, recycling and realization are to be congratulated.
The frame of the flame was made from an old pylon of the Font-Romeu cable car, Les Airelles. It is topped with a cauldron whose opening is the rim of a cart wheel, surmounted by the Olympic Flame. The white and gentle dove with the olive branch, herald of good news and universal symbol of peace, accompanies the flame. On either side, the year 2024 of the Olympic Games with the colors of the Olympic rings. The whole thing measures 6.50 m, entirely metallic, weighing 4 tonnes.
