Michael Matthews couldn’t do anything about Bryan Coquardwinner of the 2nd stage of Tour of Switzerland Monday. The Australian of training Jayco-AlUla took 2nd place in the sprint, and this remains one of his best performances this season, with his podium on Milan-San Remo and his victory at the end of January at GP Castellon. No success this time, therefore, but encouragement for the future according to the 33-year-old sprinter.

“I hope we can continue to move forward”
“I think today (Monday) was a good day, entrusts Michael Matthews on the training site, it was a pretty crazy day until the end. We knew it was going to be a pretty tough and exciting finale and that’s exactly what happened. There were three of us really in the race before the final with Mauro (Schmid) and Anders (Foldager). Mauro was covering the moves towards the end and that set me up well for a sprint and I finished 2nd. I think it’s a good rebound after Gippingen (the Canton of Aargau GP on June 7, he had abandoned) where I fell and to be back on the podium today (Monday), and I ‘Hopefully we can keep moving forward from here.’
