Taken care of the day after the accident, the motorist was airlifted to a hospital in the region.

A heroic dog. Early on Sunday June 2, Brandon Garrett, a motorist who was driving on a forest road in Oregon, in the United States, was the victim of a traffic accident. After poorly negotiating a turn, the latter’s car left the road and crashed into a ravine below. While alive, the driver cannot leave the passenger compartment of the vehicle which has overturned and found himself stuck.

Six kilometers traveled

As reported in a press release by the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, where the accident took place, one of the four dogs that accompanied Brandon managed to leave the vehicle. He then walked the six kilometers that separated him from the campsite where the rest of the accident victim’s family was.

Alerted by the arrival of the canine, Brandon’s relatives immediately began looking for him and ended up finding the vehicle on Monday morning. The man is still alive and has since managed to escape from his car. He was found about a hundred meters from the accident site.

To access the victim, the mobilized rescuers were forced to use chainsaws to cross the forest, which was dense at that location. Taken care of on site, he was then airlifted to a hospital in the region. The nature of his injuries has not been released by authorities.
