Since 8 a.m. this Sunday, June 30, 2024, residents of the Rhône have been going to the polling stations of the department and the metropolis of Lyon for the first round of the early legislative elections of 2024.

We take stock five hours after the opening of the polling stationswhile residents have until 6 p.m. (or 8 p.m. for large cities like Lyon) to elect their next deputies.

Increasing participation in the Rhône

The turnout at 12 noon in the Rhône department is 25.02% at noon, while it was 19.36% in 2022 and 19.42% in 2017 at the same time during the first rounds of the previous legislative elections.

The participation rate is therefore currently in significant increase in the Rhône during this first round of 2024.

Participation also on the rise in Lyon

In Lyon, the turnout at 10am is 10.75% (compared to 7.14% in the first round of the 2022 legislative elections). Lyon voters are also more mobilized than in 2022.

Nationally, turnout at the same time is 25.90%, according to the Ministry of the Interior. Voters in the Rhône are therefore just as mobilized as in the country as a whole. In the country, it is a record participation at this time.

The next participation figures will be known at 5 p.m., before the final results expected after 8 p.m. They will be found on news Lyon upon their official publication.
