Six hours to fine-tune the settings

This Test Day is of great importance for the teams. It allows them to make adjustments adapted to the circuit in preparation for the race. Thus, they adjust the technical parameters in order to maximize performance and reliability. Engineers and drivers work closely together to optimize every aspect of the car: aerodynamics, tire wear, chassis settings and even fuel consumption.

A must for newcomers

So that each driver is ready to face the specific difficulties of the event, the sporting regulations set out their conditions: beginners as well as those who have not participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2019 must complete a minimum of ten laps, including five timed.

Follow the times live

For enthusiasts and followers of the FIA WEC World Endurance Championship, of which the 92nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is the fourth round of the season, the live timing allows you to monitor team performance and identify progress made throughout the six hours of testing. This is a foretaste of the hierarchy that we could find in racing.

Who stood out last year?

Last year, the #51 Ferrari 499P from Ferrari AF Corse dominated the Test Day by setting the best time of 3’29”504. This performance set the tone, since this same Hypercar then won the race, thus making its entry into the legend of the Le Mans classic.
In the LMP2 category, JOTA’s #28 Oreca 07-Gibson set a first benchmark of 3’35”472. Since then, the British team has moved up a further step by fully committing to Hypercar with two Porsche 963s.
The LMGTE Am category was dominated by JMW Motorsport’s #66 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo (3’56”088). Remember that the LMGT3 class succeeds it this year. Who from Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, Lamborghini, McLaren or Porsche will stand out?
