On Saturday around 10:15 a.m., the weekend of a climber defying vertigo on the walls of the Freÿr rocks turned into a nightmare. The person fell a dozen meters and suffered leg injuries.

As soon as the alert was received, numerous human and material resources were deployed under the coordination of Captain Gillet of the Dinaphi zone. The Grimp teams (Reconnaissance and Intervention Group in Perilous Environments) from the Dinaphi zone and the Swimming zone were engaged to ensure the descent of the mountaineer from the rock wall on which he was stuck. He had already received first aid there from the SMUR team at Dinant University Hospital.

The victim suffered several fractures to his lower limbs and had to first be transported to the left bank using a boat from the Dinaphi zone to reach an ambulance. The injured man was then taken to Dinant hospital. Given the numerous intervention vehicles on site, alternating traffic was put in place by the firefighters of the Yvoir station. The Haute-Meuse police also intervened on site.
