Philippe Diallo, the president of the French Football Federation, commented on the news of TV rights for the next Ligue 1 season on Saturday June 8, on the sidelines of the general assembly of the Federation in Clairefontaine. The LFP has not yet found a broadcaster, while the championship resumes on August 16.

“We are in a difficult moment, but all negotiations on TV rights are always delicate moments, declared the president of the FFF. It is an extremely tight game which must be resolved, if not in the coming days, then at least in the coming weeks to allow our professional clubs to have a fair amount to ensure that their future is guaranteed. »

Two plans at the LFP

On Wednesday, Philippe Diallo attended the board of directors of the Professional Football League during which Vincent Labrune, its president, explained to his members the two plans on which he is currently working to find a broadcaster for the first division championship in France.

Plan A, a 100% Ligue 1 channel supported by beIN Sports and distributed exclusively by Canal+, is not abandoned but it is in progress. “stand-by” for the moment, blocked by the encrypted channel – which denies this information – which does not wish to increase the distribution contract it has with beIN at around 250 million euros per year. Plan B, validated by the CA on Wednesday, is still a 100% Ligue 1 channel, produced by the League, which abandons the idea of exclusive distribution.
