A fire broke out Thursday evening at the GDS Énergie plant located in Lac-au-Saumon.

Around twenty firefighters were called to fight the blaze.

According to the operations chief of the MRC La Matapedia Fire Department, Claude Cummings, the fire started in a pellet tank.

The flames then spread inside the pipes of a dust collector. It was limited there. We managed to contain itspecifies Claude Cummings who indicates that the beginnings of fire are not rare at the factory.

Firefighters were on scene until around 11:30 p.m.

No people were injured. According to the fire official, the damage is limited and management planned to resume production quickly.
