The sequel to the prequel to “Game of Thrones” revealed its first episode on Thursday June 6, in preview at the Théâtre du Châtelet. And it promises a new salvo in the purest tradition of the original series.

Only two more weeks of patience. It is from Monday June 17 that the French public will be able to discover the second season of House of the Dragonprequel to the planetary cardboard Game Of Thrones, on the Max platform launched on June 11 in France. And some lucky people have already had a taste on Thursday June 6 evening, by attending the European preview of the first episode at the Théâtre du Châtelet (Paris Ie).

“I think that season 1 laid the foundations, and this time it’s the kickoff,” actress Eve Best, who plays Rhaenys Velaryon, explained to BFMTV on the red carpet.

“It’s very daring, very sexy, very violent and the characters and the narrative arc are terribly interesting, complex and true,” she continues.

The first season, if it had offered the American broadcaster HBO some of the best audiences in its history, had not been exempt from certain criticisms. Some fans regretted the pace being too slow, which showrunner Ryan Condal clearly took into account.

The latter describes, in the columns of Varietythe plot of this new batch of episodes like a “cold war in the making”: tensions between Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower reach new heights, threatening to break out a war on the kingdom at every moment.

“Bigger and better” than season 1

In addition, this season 2 promises to bring its share of sex and violence, two of the main components of the program. The Parisian announces in particular “a final scene of incredible cruelty, all the harsher because it is only suggested”.

“It’s definitely bigger and better” than season 1, assures actor Harry Collett, who plays Jacaerys Velaryon. “We have no more dragons, we’re going back to Winterfell…”

The omnipresence of these winged creatures, emblematic of the universe of Game Of Thronesis indeed one of the characteristics of this season 2. No less than 14 dragons appear there, including five new species according to Le Figaro.

“(Season 2) goes to the next level in all aspects,” said Ewan Mitchell, who plays Aemond Targaryen, for BFMTV. “More dragons, a new character house, and I can’t wait for people to experience that.”

House of the dragonas Game Of Thronesis based on the work of the prolific American author George RR Martin.
