The Brussels-West police zone was called this morning around 7 a.m. That’s when they found a body in the square between the apartment buildings on rue Jean-Baptiste Decock and rue Quatre-Vents, in Molenbeek.

As the Brussels-West police zone confirms to us, they were called around 7 a.m. “We have been contacted for traffic violations. When our team arrived there, they found a dead body.“, indicates the police zone. The events took place on the square which is located between the apartment buildings on Jean-Baptiste Decock and Quatre-Vents streets, in Molenbeek.

A security perimeter

A security perimeter was set up and the Brussels public prosecutor’s office was informed. “The investigating judge called the federal police, who also went to the scene“, explained the spokesperson for the police zone, Martijn Baes.

According to our colleagues at -, the victim is an alleged drug dealer. This Friday noon, the Brussels prosecutor’s office confirms that he died of a gunshot wound. A shell casing was found on site.

The prosecution also indicates that the first investigative duties have been ordered, “namely hearings, a camera investigation and the intervention of the federal judicial police laboratory and a ballistic expert.”

An investigating judge was requested by the Brussels prosecutor’s office in connection with the murder.
