Dams: Sarreguemines exempt

It is this weekend that the accession play-offs to National 3 begin. The three Grand Est Regional 1 champions – Cormontreuil, Sarreguemines FC and Illzach Modenheim – will face each other between now and June 23, knowing that each team will play one match at home and one away. This Sunday, it is the Marnais of Cormontreuil who will host the Alsatians of Illzach, the Sarregueminois will be exempt and will therefore have to wait until June 16.

41 goals for Sahin!

This is undoubtedly a record in the history of the Regional 1 championship! This season, Sarreguemines FC serial scorer Enes Sahin scored a whopping 41 goals, unsurprisingly finishing as top scorer. Also note the good season of APM Metz goleador, Paul Maurice, who finished top scorer in group A with 21 goals.

Tribute to Dominique Paul

A figure in Moselle football who passed away on Sunday, Dominique Paul, the treasurer of the Moselle District and vice-president of the Coal Basin. A much appreciated man, for his human qualities and his dedication to the clubs, Dominique Paul was 67 years old. Several tributes were paid to him this week, including one on Wednesday evening in Saint-Symphorien, just before the kick-off of the friendly match between the France team and Luxembourg. A great tribute to a great servant of football.

Augny will find Hombourg-Haut

What a season for the Cuvry-Augny team! Already assured of moving up to Regional 3 next season, the team from the Metz suburbs qualified for the final of the Senior Moselle Cup by beating Fontoy in the semi-final, after an interminable penalty shootout (1- 1, 14 tab to 13). In the final, the Augny players will face the Hombourg-Haut reserve who easily won at home against Novéant (4-1).

A new coach in Magny…

Cédric Léonard, who joins Veymerange, will no longer be the coach of the Regional 2 club, it is Sébastien Reymond who succeeds him. Manager and trainer within the sports section of the Robert-Schuman high school in Metz, the latter has a profile that fits perfectly with the club’s objectives, namely to promote training.

…and in Sarrebourg

Saved during the final day of Regional 2, FC Sarrebourg decided to change its organization chart. Alex Gamond, who was on the bench this season, will become sporting director. It is Isis N’Simba who succeeds him as coach of the flag team. Aged 33, the latter has considerable playing experience (he notably played for Raon-l’Étape and Sarre-Union).
