This year, 1,500 gamers, divided between 9 video games, participated in this tournament for free during the season which lasted 8 months. Michael Jonathan, team manager of Excelsior E-sport, however, would like to point out that their participation was not completely free but entirely subsidized by the telephone operator partner of the event, knowing that certain games require several phases of qualifications. Among the games offered during the tournament, we can cite EFootball 2024, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm RTB4, Street Fighter VI, among others, for individual games, and DOTA 2 – DIVISION 1, DOTA 2 – DIVISION 2, League of Legends Wild Rift – DIVISION 1, to name just a few, in the category of collective games.

The objective of the organizers through the successive tournaments is to train the Malagasy e-sport level, to reach all communities of gamers and to set up a solid structure on the national level. So the tournament was designed to train them, give them regular competition that they can rely on, especially since they have no entry fees to pay. The second important point is regular follow-up with all the organizers who organize monthly events and matches every week, to better discover the discipline, regardless of the game, at the general public level. To date, an estimated 1.2 million people have been affected by the Telma E-Sports Series.

The fairer sex was also represented among the winners

And the Excelsior Esport team manager emphasizes that it is important to reward the winners who will carry the image of this discipline through other competitions. This is how an envelope of 14 million ariary was shared between the winners and best teams in each category of games at the Telma Andraharo Campus yesterday. It’s far from over since the organizing team is already promising to do better next season.

In the meantime, we know that one of the champions of this recent tournament, notably JZ Ryan, who won first place in the EAFC 24 category and who is also champion in the EFOOTBALL 2024 category, will participate in a global Esports tournament in Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia, in a few months. If his participation in this tournament is independent of the national tournament on Malagasy soil, and already fully supported by the IESF, the International Esport Federation, Excelsior Esport is entirely willing to allow him to train regularly at their home. to put all the chances on his side.
