“We were called for a marking. But when they arrived on site, the paramedics who intervened with us reported that the person was complaining of back pain. We therefore sent means of extrication,” indicates Benoit Filippi, captain at the Mons barracks.

The impact was violent and both vehicles were badly damaged. Residents and passers-by were worried when they saw the emergency services setting up a white tent, often synonymous with misfortune. Fortunately, no deaths have been reported. “The tent was set up to treat him out of sight. It is a place where there is a lot of traffic. We need discretion and to avoid further accidents. The tent is not only for deceased people,” reassures the firefighter.

After the evacuation of the injured, firefighters and tow truck operators proceeded to clean the road. “In total, we sent a marking vehicle, a pumper and a command vehicle,” indicates Benoit Filippi. Following the accident, long lines formed on this important route. The blockages should now clear up.
