Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: the fifth and final part of a cult action saga.

And 5 for Die Hard! In Die Hard: A Beautiful Day to Die, Bruce Willis reprises his iconic role of John McClane for a fifth and final adventure. A film like no other since we learn that he has… a son!

Released in theaters in 2013, the action film Die Hard: beautiful day to die therefore sees Inspector McClane come to the aid of his son Jack, held prisoner in Russia. Both will have to face a powerful Russian leader who proves to be a danger to world peace…

Written by Skip Woods, a regular in big, muscular action films (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Hitman, The A-Team…), Die Hard: beautiful day to die contains everything fans of the supercharged franchise have the right to expect. Action, action, more action, all sprinkled with McClane’s famous sense of humor!

Director John Moore, very meticulous, sought to minimize digital effects as much as possible in favor of authenticity. “It commonly happened that we spent 12 hours on a shot that would last three seconds on screen, but there is no other way. It’s not analog cinema”he declares.

“We do things in real life as much as possible, in front of the camera lens, and we only use digital visual effects to improve or extend the sets.”

Jai Courtney is…McClane junior!

Die Hard: beautiful day to die, which attracted more than 1.8 million spectators in French cinemas, exudes the old-school action film we like. With a major novelty: McCLane has a son! Jai Courtney, who plays McClane Jr., had to audition twice and convince Bruce Willis to finally get the role.

“I did a trial with him and some time later I heard the good news. I grew up admiring Bruce Willis on the screens, and the franchise Die Hardit’s quite a symbol!”entrusts the Australian actor with enthusiasm.

Pure action film including an incredible chase scene which required 82 days of filming, Die Hard: beautiful day to die also requested the creation of 58 sets. It was necessary for the fanfare farewell of one of the most iconic heroes of the seventh art. Yippee Ki Yaylegend !

Tonight on M6 at 9:10 p.m.

Have you noticed the little details hidden in “Die Hard 5”?
