Three cases of murder solved by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Judicial Police Directorate, from May 15 to June 3, 2024 in Niamey.
The Nigerien police have stepped up their fight against crime in the city of Niamey. According to her latest press release, she has solved three murder cases in the country’s capital.
The first case concerns the discovery of a corpse in advanced decomposition in the Daressalam district. The victim was a 66-year-old man and investigations made it possible to arrest the perpetrator of the murder, a young man aged 24, son of the victim who lived with her. He was referred to the prosecution of the High Court of Niamey.
The second case relates to the suspicious death of a 33-year-old woman in a hotel room in Niamey. Investigations led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man who had spent the night with the victim. He said he committed the crime under the influence of alcohol, after an argument.
The third case concerns a murder committed in the Gamkalley district. A 25-year-old man was killed with a bladed weapon (a knife) on June 2, 2024. Investigations made it possible to find and arrest the suspect who had fled Niamey to take refuge in Dosso.
