When he was president, Donald Trump tried to ban the Chinese social network. Now that he is almost on the verge of actually being banned, Trump is creating an account on TikTok.

It is with a simple video that the former campaigning president begins his “career” on TikTok: we see him alongside Dana White, president of the biggest MMA league in the USA: the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) . The rest of the video shows Donald Trump taking a little walkabout, having his photo taken, etc.

This is how, a few days after the verdict in the “Stormy Daniels affair”, Donald Trump created an account on TikTok. He quickly reached 3.7 million subscribers (his political opponent, Joe Biden, only has 345,000).

A somewhat ironic success when we know that the man nicknamed “The Donald” had previously tried to have the platform banned, while he was president and waging a real economic war against the Chinese giant. TikTok had also banned the former president from its videos for a time, cutting out parts of speech and deleting hashtags.

But it seems that this time is now over for the former host of The Apprentice, while paradoxically, it is today the Biden administration which is on the verge of banning ByteDance’s social network.
