The fourth edition of the day around nature and the book “Feuilles à Feuilles” takes place on Sunday June 16, 2024 at the Maison du bois et dutoy.

This event, sponsored by Denis Cheissoux, and initiated by the Cadeau Haut Bois and J’Mlire associations, is open to the general public, and in particular to families accompanied by children with the theme “Not so stupid”.

The day begins at 9:30 a.m. with a “Palaver Tree”. Tales and readings around real or fantastic “beasts” with Gérard Bastide (tales) and the duo Monique Iché and Monique Paillon for the readings.

At 11 a.m., the screening of the documentary “The Call of the Dragonflies” commented by Pascal Polisset and David Alquier from the office for insects and the environment. A documentary on one of the oldest flying insects threatened by cohabitation with the human species.

At midday, packed picnic, refreshment bar, ice cream and Pamela’s creperie (sweet and savory).

At 2 p.m., a walk to discover ants with Laurent Cournault from the Haut-Languedoc Regional Park.

At 3 p.m., a “Mille Feuilles” hosted by Brice Torrecillas and the presentation of the works of Gérard Bastide (In us the beasts), Delphine Laurent (Naisseur) and Pascal Polisset (Atlas of dragonflies and young ladies of the Tarn). All day long, there are stands to meet beekeepers, gardeners from the Park, the office for insects and the environment, the Calligram bookstore with “nature” books and authors and the children’s corner (games on nature and the critters).

Espace Apollo is a partner of the nature and book day. As a preview, on Saturday June 15, cinema manager Damien Cathala is offering three screenings at the single price of €4 per screening. We start with the film “Minuscule 2: Mandibles at the End of the World” at 2 p.m. When the first snow falls in the valley, it is urgent to prepare your reserves for winter.

“Enchanted Gardens” at 4 p.m. In a clearing, among the tall grass or in the king’s orchard, wonderful worlds are hidden. And “The Oak” at 6 p.m. Once upon a time there was the story of an oak tree, 210 years old, which became a pillar in its kingdom. This spectacular adventure film brings together an extraordinary cast: squirrels, barnacles, jays, ants, field mice…
