Ludmilla Barynska-Beillaud, who was born in Ukraine and raised in Poland, studied and worked in France. A visual painter for seven years, she returned to the Maison du Patrimoine to exhibit her paintings, collages and panels at the beginning of May.

Very interested in Japanese culture, Ludmilla has been going to Japan regularly for thirty years. “The Japanese have a sense of purity, an adoration of nature which they respect. Manual, they do not take themselves seriously and work until very old – this is Ikigai, a notion of joy of living anchored in the culture, one of the secrets of longevity of the inhabitants of Okinawa. » Ludmilla greatly appreciated the feedback from the public, locals and vacationers in the region. In 2018, she had already met this family audience: “Children, extraordinary visitors, adults, elderly people. I paint with water paint, watercolor and Japanese kuretake ink, a technique that I learned. Children who love manga and the cinema of Hayao Miyasaki, director of Princess Mononoke, came to see me, as well as young people interested in art and art schools to question me; I interacted with multiple visitors: art connoisseurs, photographers, teachers, including one who works with toddlers (3-6 years old). »
