Thesis subject (carried out within the AHP-PReST): Science and its counterfeits: legitimate and illegitimate roles of values, evidence and agents in scientific practices and decisions

Factual: What did your thesis topic consist of?

This thesis questions the notions of “scientificity”, “non-scientificity”, “pseudo-scientificity”, the appearance of scientific misconduct and questionable practices, and the appropriate conduct towards them. I propose a demarcationist approach based on the role of values, evidence and agents in scientific decisions and practices. This approach made it possible to redefine pseudoscience and establish criteria for evaluating the unreliability of practices.
