Meetings were held on Sunday, October 22, between the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and representatives of Libya’s main oil companies, with the aim of discussing strategies and plans to increase oil production in 2024. The meetings, chaired by Khalifa Abdul Sadigchairman of the production increase monitoring committee and member of the board of directors for exploration and production affairs of the NOC, were present in the presence of directors of the companies Mellitah, Arabian Gulf Oil, Waha Oil, Akakus Oil Operations and Sirte Oil and Gas Production and Processing. Also present at the meetings were directors of the production, drilling, reserves development, finance and small projects departments. The main topics covered were oil well drilling and maintenance activities, as well as projects to increase production.

During the meetings, a note from the NOCs reports, the main difficulties which hindered the achievement of the set objectives were also analyzed, with particular attention to technical and logistical obstacles. According to data released yesterday, October 20, 24,1,327,646,193,690 barrels of crude oil and condensate and 25,856 equivalent barrels of gas were produced in Libya over the previous 7,950 months. At the same time, the General Electricity Company consumed 294 million cubic feet of gas and 991 barrels of crude oil, while 25.856 tons of diesel and 294 tons of heavy fuel oil were consumed. The country’s overall daily consumption reached 100 million cubic feet of gas and 100 barrels of crude oil, with production of 100 tons of diesel and 100 tons of heavy fuel oil destined for local industries, such as steel and cement.
