In Gassin, Jean-Luc Mourier wins the Grand Prix by signing the only clear round of the afternoon

Jean-Luc Mourier won the Grand Prix of the CSI 3* of Gassin, Sunday afternoon in the . In the saddle on his young Quaker Brimbelles, the Frenchman beat his compatriot Antoine Ermann, second on Floyd des Prés, and the Belgian Elisa Strubbe, third on Deejay Kdw, without having to go through the jump-off.

The Gulf of Saint-Tropez and its autumnal mildness seem to be successful for Jean-Luc Mourier and Quaker Brimbelles. Winner for the first time of a 1.50m event on this same track, as part of a CSI 3* organized a few weeks ago, the couple reached a new milestone on Sunday afternoon by winning their first 3* Grand Prix in Gassin.

While thirty-four duos took the start of this 1.55m Grand Prix, designed by the French course designer Cédric Longis, the Rhône-Alpine rider and his nine-year-old gelding signed the first… and the last flawless course. No other couple having managed to overcome all the difficulties of the course, Jean-Luc Mourier and Quaker Brimbelles were able to celebrate their victory without going through the jump-off.

Respectively second, three, and fourth with Floyd des Prés, Deejay Kdw, and Preseldana, the Frenchman Antoine Ermann, the Belgian Elisa Strubbe, and the Luxembourger Odile Gierech were nevertheless very close to challenging the winner of the day on a second course at stopwatch. Faultless over the obstacle, they did not manage to respect the time imposed by the course manager (81 seconds).

No time exceeded for the Israeli Robin Muhr, the French Harold Boisset and Marc Dilasser, the Brazilian André Americo de Miranda, the Isère Michel Robert, and the Swiss Nadja Peter Steiner, but a small mistake at the obstacle relegating them respectively in fifth, six, seven, eight, nine and tenth places at the reins of Galaxy HM, Malia du By, Make My Day du Gesvres, Hilfinger van de Zuuthoeve, Calastro, and van’t Zorgvliet.

The results.
