“Ndiaye Dollar” sentenced to two months suspended sentence for driving without a license

Abdoulaye Ndiaye known as ”Ndiaye Dollar” was tried this morning at the flagrante delictos court in Dakar. He is facing trial for unintentional injury, lack of control and driving without a driver’s license. He was arrested following an accident on the Ngor road.

Aged 28, A. Ndiaye, who presented himself as a freight forwarder, admitted the facts with which he is accused. Presenting his apologies, he returned to the circumstances of the accident, reports Seneweb.

He explained to the judge that on the day of the accident, his mother had called him on the phone to ask him to come join her in Dakar urgently. His driver was not with him at the time, and since he was enrolled in a driving school to obtain a driving license, this pushed him to get behind the wheel to pick up his driver. In the meantime, his sister called him while he was driving on the road to Ngor, to tell him of the death of her husband in Italy. This is how he lost control of the car and hit vehicles in traffic.

Heard, the taxi driver Issa Seck declared that the defendant passed him on the right before hitting him. The impact was so violent that he found himself on the other lane, his car was damaged after a collision with the vehicle of a certain Antoine Diompy.

These two parties requested nothing in the way of damages.

Making his observations, the public prosecutor lectured Ndiaye Dollar. The defendant promised that he will no longer get behind the wheel of a car without a driving license. The prosecution requested the application of criminal law. Master Abdoulaye Tall of the defense requested leniency from the court, details the same source.

At the end of the trial, the judge declared Abdoulaye Ndiaye guilty and sentenced him to a two-month suspended sentence.
