Two hours before the kick-off of this MHSC-OM, the prefect of Hérault prohibited access to to all Marseille supporters. Francois Xavier Lauch justifies his decision in a press release by exceeding the number of authorized Marseille supporters, the gauge was set at 450, there were almost twice as many having taken seats in buses heading to Montpellier.

They were blocked on a highway rest area by the police. There followed clashes, throwing projectiles, in his press release the prefect mentions the presence “hooded individuals equipped with iron bars and smoke bombs who had apparently only come to seek confrontation.
