On June 26, the Olympic flame of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will take place in seven Alsatian municipalitiesof which Lembachin the Bas-Rhin.

Olympic flame in Lembach: meet at Fleckenstein Castle

In Lembach, the Olympic torch relay will take place only at Fleckenstein Castle. Not in the village directly, but about ten minutes by car from it.

Attention : you must register to participate in the event (to do so, click here).

No access by car possible on the day

There road leading to Fleckenstein Castle (D525) will be crossed out the day before6:30 p.m.

Access to Fleckenstein will be uniquely via shuttle buses from the villages or walk from the Gimbelhof hotel-restaurant.

A pocket opera at the castle on June 9, 2024

On June 9, 2024, from 8 p.m., Fleckenstein Castle will host the pocket opera* “The Magic Flute”, based on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, by the company La Chambre à Airs. “A quality service at an unbeatable price, possible for everyone and in a bucolic setting that suits Mozart’s The Birdmaker so well”, highlights Betty Favreau, the director of the castle. The ticket costs €5, entry is free for children under 12 years old. To book, you can do this on the castle website.

*A pocket opera refers to an opera in a shorter, more dynamic format.

Entertainment throughout the day

Olympic torch relay sequence must take place from 5:15 p.m.but entertainment will take place throughout the day:

  • 1:30 p.m.: workshops and demonstrations of medieval dances with the Elsass Tempora association
  • 2 p.m.: 30-minute musical concert with the Sauer-Pechelbronn intercommunal music school (ECMU)
  • 3 p.m.: 45-minute to 1-hour show offered by the company Les Arpentistes
  • 3:30 p.m.: new 30-minute musical concert by young people from ECMU
  • 4:10 p.m.: dance of the games (approximately 30 minutes) by middle school students from Woerth and Reichshoffen
  • 5:15 p.m.: passage of the flame
  • 5:45 p.m.: medal presentation to deserving local athletes
  • 6 p.m.: departure of the first buses
  • 6:15 p.m.: show (45 minutes to 1 hour) offered by Les Arpentistes

The closing of the activities will take place at 7 p.m. with Elsass Tempora again.
