DECRYPTION – Pessimism is stabilizing at high levels around the world, and more particularly in , according to an Ipsos Global Trends study.

The French are more and more turned towards the past. According to the major Global Trends survey carried out each year by Ipsos, only 13% of them say they are optimistic about the future of the world and 21% for that of the country. Nostalgia has been constantly increasing in France for 10 years. According to Ipsos, 64% of the inhabitants of France “would like their country to return to what it once was”, a level increasing by 8 points in 10 years, more than anywhere else in the world. Many are very critical of the benefits of globalization. In fact, only 34% in 2024 say that it is beneficial to them, compared to 40% in 2022. This is the lowest score observed in the 50 markets studied, with 26 points of difference with the world average. .
