For the 5e round of the Coupe de France, the DFCO will face US Cheminots Dijonnais, resident of Régionale 1, at Gaston Gérard this Sunday, October 13 at 3 p.m.
Chance works out well for Burgundian fans! At 5e round of the French Football Cup, the DFCO faces its neighbor from the ducal capital: the US Cheminots Dijonnais (USCD), a Regional 1 club.
“The Coupe de France is the oldest French competition. It can stir up a lot of emotions. In many amateur clubs, it is better followed and considered than the championship. For us, it is above all an opportunity to be able to involve everyone, and to start a journey which will allow us to experience a human adventure,” declared DFCO coach Baptiste Ridira.
“Playing Gaston Gérard is a real sporting and human advantage. It’s our stadium, but potentially that of all the clubs in the city. We can experience a beautiful moment of sharing on and off the field. The USCD is not going to come and let us win, and it won’t just be a moment between friends. The idea is to win this match. The fact of being able to be in your locker room and play on a well-sized and quality pitch should logically allow us to enforce the hierarchy. Afterwards who knows if the USCD players will not be galvanized by the enclosure, perhaps the public. Hoping that there will be a large audience so that it will be a great moment,” added the coach.
The DFCO group
Defender Quentin Bernard returns to the competition, while midfielder Adel Lembezat is called up for the first time in the group. Several executives, including Elydjah Mendy, Mohamed Sylla, Hugo Vargas-Rios, Jordan Marié and Jovany Ikanga, are on leave.
