What happened to the former presidents of Fédé B in Brest?

While Mathilde Jaouen ceded the presidency of Fédé B to Nine Fernandez this Saturday, October 12, 2024, no one knows what the future holds for her. She joins the long list of former presidents of the student association, which includes some names now somewhat known in Brest. This is of course the case of the first president of Fédé B, from 1993 to 1995: Jacques-Olivier Pers. Now an eminent professor of immunology at Brest University Hospital, he is also director of the immunology, pathology and immunotherapy laboratory at UBO.

From Brest to Australia

Other alumni who have remained within the fold of UBO or at least of higher education: Antoine Pierchon (2011-2012), now deputy director in charge of campus life at UBO, or Mikaël Cabon ( 1995-1996), teacher in human and social sciences at the ISEN engineering school in Brest. Without forgetting Sylvain Broussard (2002-2003), who died tragically in 2018. At 35, he was then chief of staff to UBO president Matthieu Gallou. He had also been the director of Pascal Olivard’s cabinet.

If many former presidents have made careers elsewhere than at the tip of , from to Australia via England, a few have remained in Brest or the surrounding area. This is the case of Romaric Bouchard (1996-1997) who manages the company Remorque Center in Guipavas, or of Laurent Guille Des Buttes (1998-1999), general director of services at Hôpital-Camfrout. Guillaume Derrien (2008), Vianney Deméocq (2008-2009) and Pierre-Yves Rousseau (2013-2014) practice different medical specialties in Finistère.

Note that the current president of the UBO, Pascal Olivard, is one of the co-founders of Fédé B. However, he never chaired the association, but was vice-president from 1992 to 1994.
