The organizers of Deus’ta presented the seventh edition of the Breton culture festival and its program this Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Tara Inn, in Brest. The Deus’ta festival, which is only growing, welcomed more than 28,000 people last year. In addition to the programming full of new features, it is also an opportunity to provide financial support to the four associations and main players in the Breton education system in the Brest region, who are carrying out the project: Skol Diwan Brest, Skolaj Diwan, Div yezh and Sked.
Breton music in all its forms
The event will take place at the Ateliers des Capucins on November 2 and 3, 2024. The bilingual village, “ar gêriadenn”, will host a number of actors and activities: stands, escape games, readings, games, karaoke… Something to sing about Shakira in Breton! On two stages, the groups will parade. On the bill, the groups Emezi and Tekmao have promised to reveal numerous musical creations on this occasion. Thus, Deus’ta is also a meeting place to dance to your favorite group or to discover Breton culture in all its forms, both in bagadouest and in R & B, tekno or drum’n bass sounds. .
Students from Breton schools are also preparing ahead of the event. In total, 1,700 students from 17 schools participate in singing and dancing workshops to take part in the “festig” prepared in their honor.
Free festival
Access to the festival is free and its organization is entirely voluntary. Thus, 300 people will give their time over the weekend. The event is organized mainly thanks to its own funds and approximately 25% thanks to public and private subsidies, including help from the City of Brest.
