Airline apologizes after showing NSFW movie to everyone on flight: Buzz

An airplane is apologizing after showing a racy, NSFW movie to all of the passengers on a recent flight.

E! News reports “Fifty Shades of Grey” star Dakota Johnson’s latest film, “Daddio” co-starring Sean Penn, was selected as the in-flight entertainment for an Oct. 5 Qantas Airways flight from Sydney, Australia to Tokyo, Japan. “Daddio” is rated R for “language throughout, sexual material and brief sexual nudity.”

“The movie was clearly not suitable to play for the whole flight and we sincerely apologize to customers for this experience,” the airline said in a statement. “All screens were changed to a family friendly movie for the rest of the flight, which is our standard practice for the rare cases where individual movie selection isn’t possible.”

The company turned off the movie after about an hour, but passengers still complained that they were unable to pause, dim or turn off the film at any of their seats earlier.

“The movie they played was extremely inappropriate. It featured graphic nudity and a lot of sexting—the kind where you could literally read the texts on screen without needing headphones,” one customer wrote on Reddit. “It was super uncomfortable for everyone… Especially with families and kids onboard.”
