the price of diesel rebounds a little more, gasoline follows

The month of October is definitely not favorable for motorists, regarding fuel prices. While the prices of these energies were decreasing in September, as they have been since July or almost, they are going back up at the beginning of October. This applies to both diesel and gasoline.

Thus, the average price of diesel increased by 0.5 euro cents, between September 27 and October 4, according to data from the Ministry of Ecological Transition. And this fuel now appears at 1.5905 €/L. A price which, however, remains lower than at the very beginning of September.

At that time, the average price of diesel was €1.6117/L. This then dropped to €1.5819/L two weeks later. And to return above €1.59/L at the start of October. In the meantime, it had been a few months since the price of diesel had gone up for two weeks in a row. The sign of the end of the decline initiated this summer?

Gasoline follows diesel

Another sign of the end of this decline and a change in trend in fuel prices, the price of SP95-E10 gasoline is also climbing at the start of October. This is almost the same as diesel, with an increase of 0.6 euro cents.

With this, SP95-E10 now averages €1.6873/L in . The SP95 gains almost 0.9 cents, rising to €1.7295/L. And the SP98 followed the same increase, at 1.7932 €/L at the start of October.

In the meantime, it remains to be seen how the trend will evolve. The barrel of dated Brent, the benchmark for the price of oil, is displayed at $74.3. A price down by $0.6 compared to last week. Heralding good news for motorists?
