ASSE has trained some talents who have established themselves at the high European level in recent years. This is particularly the case of William Saliba and Wesley Fofana, both called up to the French team during this gathering. But other players who have passed through Etrat also have more modest careers. They should not be neglected and also contribute to the success of Saint-Etienne training.
Kenny Rocha Santos bounces back in National
Originally from Cape Verde, Kenny Rocha Santos is a midfielder trained at ASSE a few years ago. Member of the victorious generation of the Gambardella Cup in 2019 and regular captain in the youth teams, he signed pro at just 16 years old and played a few matches with the A team.
After his stint in Green, Rocha Santos joined Nancy then Ostend in Belgium. Rumors had linked him to Liverpool during his successful spell with the Belgian club. Discussions ultimately never came to fruition with the Premier League team. He was also able to represent his country on several occasions. The midfielder born in 2000 has 28 caps with Cape Verde and notably participated in the 2021 and 2023 African Cups of Nations.
He played last season at AEZ Zakakiou (Cyprus) and has just found a club. Indeed, https://twitter.com/PrunetaLaurent/status/1844794299982004689 (Le Parisien) tells us that Rocha Santos will sign up with Paris 13 Atletico, a National club. A very good move for the capital team, which is strengthening with a player who already has real experience in Ligue 2. “Le Paris 13 Atletico continues to strengthen with the signing of the Cape Verdean international midfielder Kenny Rocha Santos (24 years old) trained in Saint-Etienne, then passed through Nancy, Ostend, AEZ Zakakiou (Cyprus). 61 L2 matches and 45 Jupiter League matches.”
Good luck to Kenny Rocha Santos in this new project!
