The actress was on October 10 at the opening night of the revival of the play Our Town on Broadway. Dressed in a black dress, she captivated all eyes.

A black dress is enough to be chic and Katie Holmes understands that well. This October 10, the 45-year-old actress was present at the premiere of the musical Our Town at the Barrymore Theater in New York. Indeed, this classic by the late director Thornton Wilder had not been performed on stage for 20 years. To honor the character she plays in this play, Katie Holmes took to the red carpet and left no one indifferent.

Her look consisted of a long black satin dress with a raised collar. An elegant, belted piece that included a slight slit on the left side. Wearing gold-toed pumps, her silhouette was enhanced by dangling silver earrings. The Hollywood star also had her hair brushed slightly back and opted for natural, luminous makeup. A simple and chic style that doesn’t seem to leave the star of the hit series Dawson (1998).

A fashion icon fond of black outfits

This is not the first time that the actress has revealed her black-toned wardrobe. Last month, she enhanced the launch of New York Fashion Week in a dark, sleeveless dress, which she chose not to accessorize. At the Roundabout Theater Company’s 2024 gala in March, she once again opted for a long column dress in the same color. On her feet, she wore black heels adorned with a white rose from the Magda Butrym label. Two years earlier, she transcended the New York night dressed in black to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Bulgari house. Suri Cruise’s mother wore a slip dress composed of thin nightie-style straps and square-toed boots. As Coco Chanel said: “When I find a color darker than black, I will wear it. But until then, I’m wearing black.”
