While no new debate is planned, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are now exchanging acidic barbs through interposed interviews. “I’m literally losing hours of sleep because of what’s at stake in this election,” Kamala Harris said in a radio interview Tuesday, warning of the risks of a new Donald Trump presidency.

“I think Donald Trump has this desire to be a dictator,” she warned, while accusing her Republican rival of being “manipulated” by “strong men”. For his part, Donald Trump did not go there with the back of the spoon either. The Republican candidate brushed aside the idea of “taking even the slightest day of rest” before the November 5 election. “I would feel guilty,” he told a podcast, comparing his rival to “a child,” or a “person with a very low IQ.”

Always neck to neck

If a New York Times poll, carried out on Tuesday, gives the advantage to Kamala Harris with 49% of voting intentions nationally against 46% for her Republican rival. The two candidates remain neck and neck. And as in 2020, everything will be played out in the famous “swing states”, namely Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

In order to attract candidates who are still undecided, the two candidates chose very different strategies. Kamala Harris is notably attempting a seduction operation with moderate Republicans, betting that some of them do not want a new Donald Trump presidency.

Trump’s tour of the United States

She thus organized a meeting with former Republican elected official Liz Cheney, repudiated by Donald Trump. She reiterated again on Tuesday her intention to appoint a Republican to her government if she were elected. As for Donald Trump, he continues his tour of the United States to occupy the field.

After returning to Butler, Pennsylvania, the site of the assassination attempt last July, the candidate must go to Colorado and again to Nevada. But above all, he will go to California, a Democratic stronghold acquired by Kamala Harris. This Wednesday, he is also expected in Delaware. Donald Trump will hold an “economic” meeting in Scranton, Joe Biden’s hometown, to denounce the Democrats’ record. The two candidates for the White House are not idle and the outcome of the November election is still undecided.
