Following the Massachusetts team’s 2-1 overtime victory at the expense of the Maple Leafs, the Florida Panthers players fine-tuned their preparation on Sunday before welcoming the Bruins in the opening game of the semi-final of the Eastern Association, Monday. Asked about his impressions of the previous confrontation of his opponents, Matthew Tkachuk did not shy away.
“Without it going too badly, we all knew Boston was going to win, given the way the series was going. I think that throughout this confrontation, we expected to see them triumph in one way or another,” he told the media, as reported by the Sportsnet network.
A bit like his brother Brady, captain of the Ottawa Senators, Matthew Tkachuk risks not making friends in the Queen City. Already, his Panthers have shown the Leafs the way out in the spring of 2023. Now, however, they could attract clamor in Toronto with a victory in the second round against the team’s scorers in blue and white.
