The event caused difficulties.
An accident occurred this Sunday, May 5, around 7:15 p.m., on the A61, towards Toulouse between the Carcassonne Ouest (n°23) and Bram (n°22) interchanges.
Due to the time it took for the rescue teams to intervene and then to evacuate the vehicles involved, the highway was cut.
VINCI Autoroutes teams were mobilized to secure and facilitate the intervention of rescue teams with injured people and then to evacuate the cars involved before restoring normal traffic conditions.
To get around the difficulty, in the direction of Toulouse, exit was obligatory and entry prohibited for all vehicles in Carcassonne West (n°23).

This event caused up to 4 km of traffic jams in the direction of Toulouse.
Shortly before 8:40 p.m., VINCI announced that “traffic had been restored on all of the routes” and the “traffic jam was being cleared”.
