The first of the three Grand Tours of the season will have its epilogue this Sunday, May 5. The 8e stage of the women’s Vuelta is also the last, with a fairly short route of 89.5 km which will take the peloton from Madrid to Valdesqui.
The route is tricky, with two climbs of 1D category, including the summit finish at Valdesqui (12.8 km at 4.8%). You will therefore have to be strong to win. In this little game, the red jersey Demi Vollering (SD Worx-Protime) is the big favorite, she who defeated the competition on Thursday at Laguna Negra. But her pursuers, starting with her closest competitor Elisa Longo Borghini (2e+ 52”, Lidl-Trek), will try everything to overturn the general classification.
