Christiane Portier, née Blanc, passed away on September 23 in her 75th year.
Christiane was born on April 18, 1949, the last of four children in a family living in the commune of Chilly, in the hamlet of Coucy, where she began her education at the hamlet’s municipal school. .
It was in Annecy that she learned the profession of secretary typist to become a serious, gifted and studious student. The years pass. In 1966, Christiane met Michel Portier, whom she married in 1967. From that moment on, her professional life was punctuated by her husband’s numerous moves and transfers (Clermont-Ferrand, Paris, Lyon) to finish his professional career in Paris. as executive secretary.
Being away from family is not always easy, so it’s a journey back and forth to reconnect with the family as often as possible. In 2005, when Michel’s mother died, the suitcases were permanently left at the family chalet in Mésigny.
To strengthen her faith, Christiane goes each year to the Salette pilgrimage and returns to the Diocesan Hospitality of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes in 2016. She is assigned to the dining room where she is efficient, dynamic, but above all kind and gentle towards the sick. And then, to give a lot of time to others, Christiane becomes the president of the Bel Automne club in Mésigny.
This Monday, September 30, the church was far too small to accommodate family and friends for this farewell ceremony where Christiane left to join her husband Michel, who died in 2015.
