Clearly, the weather will not have been on the side of vacationers in zone B. This last weekend before the start of the school year, marked by the bridge of 1er May, do not deviate from the rule with rain this Saturday May 4 and Sunday May 5.
What can you do to keep yourself busy without having to put on the hood or hold the umbrella? Le Courrier de l’Ouest gives you some ideas…
Museums
Arts, sciences, history… Maine-et-Loire has 32 museums. Some even participate in the operation which allows free entry on the first Sunday of each month. A good opportunity to cultivate yourself there this May 5. Workshops are organized in certain sites such as at the Jean-Lurçat Museum in Angers.
The castles
Anjou has 1,205 castles, including the highest in Europe (Brissac), the deepest in Europe (Brézé), the only one in the Loire with its feet in the water (Montsoreau), and even the one that has an extraordinary library (Serrant) and another which contains an apothecary (Baugé)…
Cellar visits
Anjou is a land of wine. This is also where we find the best vintage of fine bubbles outside of Champagne. Enjoy – in moderation! – that’s good, but discovering behind the scenes of the drinks on our tables is even better. Many houses offer visits to the cellars, often with a tasting included.
Theme parks
Are your children full of energy? Sheltered parks can allow them to let off steam while avoiding the rain. Around Angers, let them play at My Dreamland, Ouistiti Compagnie, Loopiland or Skoubi-Parc. Count between 2 and 7.90 euros.
Indoor sports halls
Young and old athletes can discover or rediscover a discipline in a closed room, sheltered from bad weather. Climbing at Climb’Up (entrance from 11 to 17 euros), skating at the IceParc in Angers (free entry or up to 5.5 euros) or at Glisséo in Cholet (free entry and up to 5.90 euros) or even the trampoline at New Jump in Saumur (from 7.5 to 18 euros).
