what are the “Fattah” missiles fired by Iran at Israel?

The war in the Middle East has intensified since the launch of around 200 missiles against Israel by Iran on Tuesday, October 1. Among them, the formidable “Fattah” hypersonic missile developed by the Iranian regime.

Innovative ballistic technology. This Tuesday, October 1, Iran confirmed having launched 200 missiles against Israel and among them for the first time several “Fattah” hypersonic missiles.

Iran announced to the world that it was working on this missile in November 2022 on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam. This Iranian soldier, who died in 2011, is considered in his country as “the father of ballistic missiles”. In particular, he actively participated in the design of several long-range missiles as a deterrent force against Israel.

Officially unveiled in June 2023, the “Fattah” takes its name from Persian and means “winner”. It is a very long-range pressure missile capable of reaching 1,400 kilometers and which travels at a speed between Mach 13 and Mach 15, that is to say 13 to 15 times faster than the speed of sound.

According to the Iranian regime, the “Fattah” hypersonic missile is capable of bypassing anti-missile systems. If this were really the case, it could therefore have increased effectiveness against the Israeli Iron Dome.
