A fire broke out on Friday May 3, 2024 around 2:30 p.m., in Châteaugiron (Ille-et-Vilaine) in a disused pavilion located at 4, rue des Bluteaux. Around thirty firefighters from the fire and rescue centers of Blosne, Rennes-Beauregard, Janzé, Servon-sur-Vilaine and Vern-sur-Seiche quickly went to the scene.

No injuries
Eight vehicles, including a large ladder, were needed to put out the fire. “When we arrived on site, we noticed a lot of smoke. The fire started on the second floor and quickly spread to the attic. explains Lieutenant Sylvain Lambert from the Rennes-Le Blosne barracks and head of the operation. At 5 p.m., heavy smoke was still escaping from the pavilion. No casualties have been reported and the causes of the fire are not yet known.
