In , one in five people play the role of caregiverbut only half recognize themselves as such. These caregivers provide support to loved ones such as children, brothers, sisters, parents or spouses facing illness, loss of autonomy or disability. Their daily life can be tiring, leading to fatigue and exhaustion.

As part of the second multi-year national strategy “Acting for caregivers 2023-2027 », the Public Service of Autonomy and the Ministry of Solidarity launched a national campaign from September 22 to October 20, 2024.

This initiative aims to make caregivers more visible and provide them with the resources and support they need.

A daily awareness campaign for caregivers developed in collaboration with caregiver associations and Social Security organizations.

This campaign will extend over a month and will use several communication channels:

  • A dedicated site, aidant.gouv.frwhich brings together all the resources and assistance available according to the situations of caregivers (active, retired, young caregivers);
  • Posters illustrating three typical profiles of caregivers: a mother, a son and a sister;
  • Television, radio and digital spots addressing three essential themes: awareness of the role of caregiver, support and respite platforms, as well as leave for caregivers.

Recognition of the role of caregiver This campaign aims to raise society’s awareness of the reality of caregivers. The need for recognition is crucial for these people who often struggle to juggle their personal lives and their role as caregivers.
