has just deployed very high-speed mobile Internet in the Magnac- sector.

If smartphones have become essential today, they must also evolve in performance over the years. Thus, the operator Orange inaugurated on Thursday April 11 the implementation and use of 5G in the town and its region.

This technology, deployed on 3.5 GHz frequency bands, makes it possible to consolidate the mobile network and maintain the quality of the 4G network which is already in high demand.

Eric Elchinger, director of relations with local authorities, specifies some interesting technical data: the pylon on rue François-Mitterrand is equipped with three 120° antennas to cover all of its 3 sectors. It is offered for more than 50 mobile references and 3 packages are available ranging from 120 GB to 200 GB without any change of SIM card required. It is a powerful lever for competitiveness thanks, in particular, to connected objects and artificial intelligence.

Note that 5G is much “less energy intensive” than 4G, because it goes into standby mode if it is not in use, unlike 4G which continuously consumes energy. The installation of the antennas was entirely financed by Orange from its own funds without external assistance.
